Gabriel Hansen was born on June 3, 1964, in Copenhagen, Denmark, a city renowned for its commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. His early years were shaped by the profound influence of his parents, Elena and Henrik Hansen. His mother, a dedicated marine biologist, introduced him to the wonders of marine ecosystems, while his father, a prominent industrialist in the 1960s and 1970s, instilled in him a deep understanding of business and development. Later, his father relocated to Switzerland, transitioning into real estate and property development.
Gabriel’s exposure to his mother’s fieldwork took him to some of the world’s most fragile marine ecosystems, sparking a lifelong passion for environmental conservation. These experiences played a pivotal role in shaping his path toward becoming an environmentalist.
In 2010, Gabriel relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, in the United States from Amsterdam, where he and his wife had lived for over eighteen years. The transition was particularly challenging as he was grieving the loss of his beloved wife and seeking a place to heal. In 2022, he moved to Virginia, where the region’s lush forests and vibrant waterways deepened his connection to nature. Immersing himself in local landscapes, he spent much of his time exploring rivers, studying aquatic ecosystems, and furthering his knowledge of environmental science, reinforcing his commitment to conservation and sustainability.
Our responsibility is not just to repair the damage we've done to our environment, but to innovate and create solutions that ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

Encouraged by his parents, Gabriel pursued his education in marine engineering at Copenhagen School of Marine Engineering and Management, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree. Fascinated by the intersection of engineering and environmental science, he sought opportunities that would allow him to apply his technical knowledge to real-world challenges. His studies laid the foundation for his future work, emphasizing both innovation and ecological responsibility.
Upon graduating, Gabriel embarked on a career as an underwater welder, a path that allowed him to combine his engineering skills with his love for the ocean. Over the course of a decade, he worked on a variety of offshore projects, including deep-sea infrastructure repairs, underwater pipeline construction, and maintenance of oil rigs. His firsthand experience in these environments exposed him to the delicate balance of marine ecosystems and the pressing need for more sustainable practices in the industry.
Driven by a growing awareness of environmental challenges and a desire to contribute to long-term solutions, Gabriel transitioned into the field of environmental consultancy. In 2015, he founded HNSN Environmental Limited, a company dedicated to sustainable project management and environmental preservation. As an environmental consultant, he specializes in the protection of aquatic ecosystems, developing strategies to mitigate pollution, promote biodiversity, and create safe habitats for marine life.
Gabriel’s work extends beyond marine conservation. He is actively involved in the design and implementation of sustainable agricultural initiatives, including greenhouse construction projects that emphasize energy efficiency and resource conservation. By integrating renewable energy sources and eco-friendly technologies, he seeks to minimize environmental impact while advancing food sustainability.
Throughout his career, Gabriel has remained deeply committed to environmental stewardship, drawing upon his diverse experiences in engineering, marine biology, and conservation. His journey, from the depths of underwater welding to the forefront of sustainability initiatives, reflects his unwavering dedication to protecting the planet’s natural resources. With HNSN Environmental Limited, he continues to advocate for responsible practices that honor both technological advancement and ecological balance, ensuring a healthier future for generations to come.
